How to clean my VT engine bay?

Hey everybody.
The other day my dad and I replaced my radiator in my VT wagon and found that the previous owner had put water in the old one. lol.
So anyways it got abit messy around the front of my engine where all the pullys and that are its like a rust colour.
So I was wondering how can I clean this crap off the front of my engine and generally just to make the whole engine bay cleaner.

Thats all i do, but not with a hi pressure just normal tap pressure.An i dont cover anything(some ppl cover the coils an stuff) i just wet the lot an then let it dry.

I need to like scrub it but cause degreaser wont work on it.

my mate had a high pressure hose so i thought i might aswell give it a go... come up squeeky clean :P

haha yer but its hard to get into some places lol was wondering if the was any washing agents i could use
ill just get the gurney onto it and see what happen

you said degreaser wont work if that wont get it off nothing will.

Take photos and post... it might be normal and like any other Ecotec engine. lol they arent the best engine that appeals to the eye.
