    Default Removung rear main seal

    Does anyone know how to get the rear main seal off on the back of a s/c v6? ive gotten all the bolts off it but its still stuck on

    Smack it with a hammer. When we did mine it took a bit of smashing and bashing before it came off - beware fluids when it comes off!

    Also could use screwdriver and go around it using it like a lever. ^^^like said above but becareful when it does come apart coz oil and count will come out lol

    Yeah take it easy just tap it lightly and slowly increase pressure to it budges. use a rubber mallet or something instead if you're worried about doing any damage better safe than sorry.

    Drop the coolant 1st otherwise it will contaminate your oil

    It was swapping coolant and oil so ill need to do an oil change anyway but managed to get it off by tapping it a bit wit a screw driver and it came off and talking abou the fluids manthere was a bit which came out

    Haha nice one. Man I drained my radiator first and still got covered in coolant. Speaking of rear mains i think the guy that did mine didn't use the special tool needed and it's not aligned properly or something cos I still have an oil leak... and it's grimfully near the back.
