I can't answer the first one, but I believe its not good for the transmission to rev it in Park, as the pump isn't turning at a high enough speed, and the torque converter will need the oil as its working way too hard. You torque converter stall speed is about 2000rpm I think, and revving it beyond that will kill it.

The regulator is on the back of the alternator, it the black thing.

The torque converters job is basically the clutch of an auto, it allows the engine and gearbox to spin at different speeds, its also a torque multiplier. When the gearbox is in Park, than I believe the gearbox is locked, so the torque converter will have to absorb all the speed of the engine. When the car is in drive, the torque converter (which is basically a fluid coupling) will transfer the power to the gearbox and spin the box.

Now like I said, the stall speed, which is the speed where the torque converter should be applying most of the power to the gearbox, is about ~2000rpm. Anything above this and your making the torque converter do something its definitely not designed too.

Torque converters do absorb some of the engines power at all RPM, and that's why manual will always score better on a dyno. Though this is reduced a bit by the tuner 'locking-up' the converter. Your car also does this while your cruising, it will lock both sections of the torque converter together.

the traction control light will come on at Rev limit ...

rev limit is 5500 by memory, dont quote me on that lol
the engine will give a little shudder when the light initially comes on too.

all in all, not a good idea to do if you want to look after your engine/trans as a whole
and im sure Acarmody knows a fair bit more about the Torque converter than myself, so in his words it will be doing damage to that also
