    Default Project VT turbo

Hey guys so I started pullin my manual VT V6 Berlina apart to install all turbo stuff, I am wandering wat people do with the PCV valve in the inlet manifold, can I just weld up the hole in the plenum? And also the EGR module thing, can I just get rid of it all together? Cheers for any help. When I get on the computer I will post up progress pics as I go.

block it off i normally just pull them out and fold the small end over on itself so its blocked.egr can be blocked off too the supercharged tune you will end up running will have no egr in it
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

yeah i just got rid of the EGR unit. you can either weld up the hole or put a VS inlet plenum on it which has no hole and has the same pattern as a VT. I have a wastegate in the same position as the EGR use to be so i can try convince mr plod that its the egr as for the PCV in the inlet i just let it there as normal. under boost it block off and worst case it may suck in a bit of oil under sudden closing of the throttle. If you have breathers in the rocker covers this will be minimised.

If you want to buy some collectors of me to shortcut your manifold build just pm me.

from experience you will need a excedy cushioned button clutch as minimum as the standard one will die instantly.

make sure you take plenty of pics, its always good to see other turbo v6's!!

Here's the front mount all mounted:

Had to 'modify' the reinforcement bar, gotta plate it up at work still:

    Modified PCV valve hehe:

Shame to hide the front mount but hopefully keep the boys in blue off my back:

In the process of puttin on my reversed VS plenum(doesn't have the EGR hole on the plenum so no need to weld anything up) so thought I'd change the always leaking valley cover gaskets:

Well first off I woulda had to have made a new EGR pipe to reach all the way to the otherside coz I reversed the plenum, then secondly it would be in the way and then woulda had to weld a bung in the manifold.... And last of all, personaly I reckon theyre a stupid idea coz it returns HOT air into the plenum so defeats purpose of cold air intakes and stuff wouldn't it? I know it's there for nitrogen recycling or something but yer...

Apparently the tune I will get won't have anything in it to run the EGR so it's not needed

what you make a nice close to tuned length manifold then you make the drivers side a log whats going on 2 matching length runner ones will be way better or one side of the engines going to run different to the other

I knew someone was gonna say somethin hehe I tried to make it kinda tuned length but then thought it's got cross over pipe anyway so it's not gonna run tuned lengths

Hey guys bit of an update, I'm gonna redo the drivers side manifold using the 3into1 merge I made, delco convinced me to have another go at it haha I started to cross over pipe off the turbo side, I'm just not sure wether to go above or below the box?? Any ideas/advice? This is what I'm at so far I've still gotta put a flexy join on it and flange

Ok so I made the new drivers side manifold today and I gotta say I am alot more happier with this one than the log manifold I previously made:
