bonnet scoops

hey everyone, i am new here and my partner owns a VU ute and we were wondering if anyone knows where we can get a new bonnet for it with bonnet scoops... we live in brisbane...

Be sure you dont get a Fibre glass bonnet as they are very illegal

ahh pretty strong, im sure it would crump in a head on, but for a bonnet, its strong enough to do its job

Ok Coolies, Last time i asked around in NSW was told they are illegal due to pedestrian & Crash safety, eg, if someone falls on it they wont go through it into the engine lol

yeah im not sure if in NSW the laws are the same as QLD but here these fibreglass bonnets from blits
are legal

Sometimes there are "Monaro" ones on ebay. (metal) - not fiberglass scoops moulded onto a steel bonnet:P

theyre ilegal coz they dont crumple, they shatter, and therefor dont work with crumple zones properly

google it mate, i googled bodykits for vt / vx and found a few blokes round NSW and VIC that make Bonnets aswell. also as said before, ebay is a good place but can be expensive as balls.

As far as I know, you can have a fibreglass bonnet if it has been ADR approved. There are a few places making them and so you should be able to find one. Not that they are much lighter than normal bonnets as they need the reinforcing/frame still.

we could argue all day but not all fibreglass bonnets are ilegal, as i showed b4 my fibreglass bonnet comes with an ADR appproved certificate so its fine, and its much lighter than the stock steel one
