Ok long story short,
Start the car let it idel for about 2 min or so. incress the RPM to about 2000 for about 10 sec
release throttle and i can here taping for about 5sec or so. only time you can hear tapping is after i release the throttle.
i did a oil change the other day not sure what oil was in it as i brought it from a dealership,
I put GTX 10w-40 not sure if thats the right oil or not but just courious as to weather its a oil problem or somthing else
Cheers
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them
Does it make the same noise when the engine is warm? Castrol recommends Magnatec 10W40 and Edge Sport 10W30 for the LSx engine not GTX. The majority of LSx owners use Castrol Edge Sport 10W60.
welcome the peculiar world of GEN3's
they will always make some noises, always.
All you can try is different oils. i found 10-60 is the best in mine, where others will say their engines are ticking/clacking using a 10-60.
Its trial and error.
VX SS - Twin 2.5 cat back - MAFLESS Tune - MCAI
that's the strangest thing
magnatec is a very ordinary dino oil
why there would be a big difference btw. gtx3 10w40 and magnatec 10w40
both same grade, both low end dino from the same company
edge sport is at least a lower end quasi synth oil
