VX Front shocks and springs complete units for purchasing

At the 190,000 klm service I was told the front struts and springs need replacing so does anyone know of a non genuine supplier that sells them as a complete unit.

pedders does good reasonably priced after market units. they will install them as well if you want them to. there are others but usually more expensive. google pedders for locations

I have pedders gas comfort sturts in my car with thier touring spring in pedders version of a sl, an pedders sports ryder ssl spring an gas comfort shocks in the rear. No complaints. was about $1100 fitted but it would be cheaper just for the fronts.

Yep I to have a Pedders quote, $1,200 to supply and fit a set of fronts which I thought was a tad expensive. Repco have a complete front set of the Monroe ones for $600.

Have the springs sagged? It's probably just the shocks that are worn out and maybe things like the top plate bearings and bump stops?
If indeed the springs are stuffed you could try Holden to see if they sell the complete units still? I recall a friend buying genuine FE2 front struts and they were not that expensive so you may be able to get FE2or standards still as a new part. Ring around as Holden dealers prices on spare parts can vary quite a lot.
