Hey guys, i've got a maximum of $6000 for my first car and im looking at getting a VT. I live in Adelaide and have just got my P's. Im not after the fastest car, i just want something good and reliable.
Used HOLDEN, COMMODORE EXECUTIVE VT car for sale in Adelaide
I checked this car out today, it is in very nice condition. How's the price sound, from what i've been looking at it's pretty damn cheap for a VT that's only done 141,000 km.
Also, when i seriously check it (or other VT's) out, what are some key things to check out?
+my mum insists on getting it RAA checked before buying it.
Thanks for any help guys!
The car looks okk. But you can vt's for as low as 1500. $6000 for just an executive is too expensive.
Thats worth about 3k tops, looks pretty clean and stock though.
Buy private, try look for something as stock as possible with under 200k on it.
Dont buy one from any fully sick habibi guy or bogans ect.
imo that's way to expensive for what it is. Yes it's clean but that doesn't mean they can raise it by a few k. Like 2DIE said. Look on classifieds and gumtree and things and buy a privatly owned one. Good luck
low km dealer with lpg fitted in a small market like adelaide + obligatory warranty
it's par for the course with all those factors
VX11 for that money imo.
I pais 7k for my S/C VX from dealer in good allround condition.
Okay thanks for that, well since we're paying with VISA we have to buy from a dealer, that sucks but eh no other choice.

Used HOLDEN, COMMODORE ACCLAIM ACCLAIM car for sale in Adelaide
Holy Shit 5K for one with 400,000+ on the clock
i payed $15000 for my vx manual back a few years, since then ive got a $1500 vl and a $2200 suzuki vitara...IMO the cheaper cars are 100 times more fun haha.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
Thats fair enough. The only point I was going to say is you would be better off getting a personal loan then buying it on a credit card. A personal loan for $6k would have lower re-payments then $6k on a credit card, and you will also end up paying a shitload lower interest rate on a loan vs a credit card so the car would end up costing you less over the time of paying it off. As well as personal loan = cash in hand, opening up the private market to you where you are much more likely to find a better deal on a VT. For that money you'd even get a heaps tidy VX. But each to their own, just offering my advice![]()
I must agree. I know when you are young (which I am assuming you are) you want things straight away, I was the same, but I can almost guarantee that you will regret buying it with a credit card, not for a while maybe but in a few years when the car is getting older and you still owe thousands on it. I know it is not the advice you want to hear but I'm giving it anyway. A personal loan is a much better option. If you can get a credit card you should be able to get a loan.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Because it's clean and low k's ....Don't always look at 1st sight to make your mind up
Some car yards Can easily cover up problems with there cars
The engine looks great right????? all they do is give it a degrease and armorode it
200 kms down the road you might see oil leaks....and other problems car yards cover up
Also car yards most of the time put a big mark up....If you bought that private you would pay around $3000......To get it looking that clean pay around $200 for a full detail
If that car was traded lucky to get $2000....But all depends on the car they bought and how much profit they made on the car
Try and get a car loan and buy private.....Maybe even find one with log books.....Save thousands in the long run
Buy a car private
Way to expensive! I spent 6k on a VY. I would go a VX or VY if I was you
Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I'll sort it out with my mum, as to whether to go personal loan or visa. Out of interest, how do you guys find such cheap 'good' cars - i go WOW when i see a standard VT for $5000 with less that 200,000km's. I'm guessing it's because i'm in adelaide?
I'm in Adelaide too, I was looking for a VT for about 6 months but they are way over priced here. Ended up getting a immaculate one, stock as, 150k on the clock from Melbourne for $1650.
Cost like $80 for the flight there, $20 for a taxi, and a bit over $100 for fuel to drive back. Also before I got there I gave the guy a extra $80 to get a 28 day permit so I can drive it back.
Now is the time to buy, I see tons of bargains on ebay, even VT supercharged V6s going for around 5k
hmmm, I'm guessing that I'd be able to buy a car off ebay assuming the seller accepted paypal payments.
All sellers accept pay pal....
But most private seller will try and say no pay pal..Only cause the seller gets charged fee's for accepting payments
You can always ask befor you bid
Ok so u want to buy from credit card....
Can't you withdrawn money from the credit card??????????
I use to have one years ago...And i could take money out of atm...
But a few thousand just withdawn everyday.... Say $1000 a day...Or $500 what ever your limit per day is
Also i found that when your biding on something
Don't bid early as people get carried away......
Just leave bidding to the last 10 seconds.....I normal bid around last 5 seconds...Just depends how quick your computer is i guess
