I've had my Clubsport R8 VT2 for just a few months and I've noticed that the gears crunch a little until the box is warmed up. I'm based in the UK and it's -5 degrees C right now which has made the problem much worse. Is the Tremec T56 known for doing this?
Pretty common. Check the stops and use a synthetic oil. The oil can help a little.
i dont have the T56 box but mine does it all the time until about 5 mins of driving, only when cold though
MAINLUBE oil reduces this symptom. You get what you pay for in this case with Mainlube, best oil out across the board.
what about transmax-Z or pennzoil MGO70
Try double declutching until the box warms up. IE drive it like it had no synchromesh on the gears. If it was doing it when warm, I would say that your synchro was on the way out.
Being in the UK, send an email to Mal Wood Automotive and see what he recommends.

Bit of feedback on this. I spoke to Mal and he said fiil it with Dexron. He has no idea why anyone puts anything else in it.
