I had a small leak, and it would take about 3 days to lose a few litres.
I couldn't see any sign of leak anywhere.
So i have changed upper and lower radiator hose, radiator cap, thermostat,
Flushed system at the time, and still the leak continued.
I was driving in Perth on Tuesday and then out of know where the car overheated.
Managed to limp it home after a refill.
Noticed water pump was leaking so finally i thought the problem would be gone when i replaced with a brand new one and hour later.
All went well bled system then drove the 3 hours home.
Checked it this morning and it had lost about 600ml.
There is NO sludge in radiator and the oil is nice and clean.
Is there something else i should be looking for?
Thanks in advance,
D.Fisher
Put some food dye in the radiator and let it idle until normal temp, get someone to give it a few revs and see if you can see where its coming from.
Could be pin holes in the radiator hoses, the radiator its self, heater hoses, heater tap, wouldn't hurt to take off the rocker covers and see if any is getting in there either, could possibly have a thin strip of head gasket that has given way.
Cheers mate will Do that now.
take it to local radiator shop and have them pressure test it and quote you for repairs.
then up to you who does repairs
Fixed.
Chucked the die in like you said and it came up straight away, it was the cross over pipes at the bottom.
Nipped them up took it for a long drive and didn't lose a drop.
Cheers mate your a legend.
At the bottom of the radiator they come out from one side and cross over to the other side of the radiator they are like ali 1/4".
And was easier to just remove the fans. Just had to remove the CAI pipe that goes over the radiator only 2 plastic screws.
and then removed the plastic cover on radiator just 4 plastic screws again.
And the fan had 5 x 10mm bolts 1 dutch plug and power steering fluid bottle just clicks of the bracket.
