    bcm controls a lot of the electronics in your car eg, central door locking, boot release with speed interface, power window system, dome lamp relay control, fixed dwell wiper control, auto lights off FIXED, engine disable, engine cooling low speed fan control, cruise control interface, srs airbag deployment vehicle shutdown, air conditioning interface and intermittent and synchronised to front rear wiper control with full wipe in reverse gear (wagon only). And that is just the low level bcm. there are three other types for VT.... ID for low level is 688 LOW. For mid is 686 MID. these appear on the face of the unit. I hope this helps
