Hi,
The horn has stopped working on my VX Commodore. Could it be a relay, fuse or something else? What should I try?![]()
First check the horn fuse (No25) under the steering column. If the fuse is ok check the connections at the horn (driver's side behind the bumper and you can access it from under the car) if ok check the horn itself by connecting 12 volts directly to the terminals on the horn). If it is still not working check the connection under the horn pad, this will be more difficult and should not really be attempted if you don't know what you are doing with the airbags. Try the first three suggestions first and see how you go.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
If none of that works try viagra!! Nah jokes. BUT!!! To add to that, if the horn works direct off the battery, THEN check in the steering wheel. If it doesn't work off the battery then get a new horn.
Just by the way, there is a horn relay, relay# 3 under the plastic panel on the driver side inner guard. most of those relays are 16 amps so just swap one out to see if that is the problem. $0 at your friendly wreckers. The horn on my VT sounds like it belongs on an xf cab. Upgrading to stato duals asap
