    Default VT Berlina - Help

Hey! Just need some advice and help with my 1998 S1 VT Berlina V6

When I got it, I found the frame part where the seatbelt comes out on the rear seats is missing. Where the seatbelt comes out of the pillar. I was wondering what they're called and where I could get them from, as it's little things like that which annoy me.

I also need to get a new auto antenna as mine has broken not too sure where to get it as I live 2 hours from the closest car shops and how much will that cost?

My lights in my climate control screen have also blown not too sure how to replace them, but I was thinking of going with LEDs as I like the look of them (Trying to get the whole car to be lit with LEDs started with the number plate lights as I needed to replace them when I got the car)

I also want to know, what are some little mods to impove my car. Either in the looks department of preformance department, I don't mind. I have been offered 19" rims really cheap. Should I get them, will the ride hight be really high and what about anything else I have to consider?

    Thanks, in advance.

At a guess it would be called the rear pillar trim?

A electric antenna is probably less than $50 from a auto shop but I'm not sure how well it will fit, probably better to get one out of a VT from a wreckers or from ebay.

I have no idea about the climate control lights, that's probably something to post in the eletrical section or do a search, I read someone talking about the same thing a day or 2 ago but I cant remember exactly where.

MACE do some good bolt on mods you can install your self for a good price.

COLD AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR 25MM FOR HOLDEN VS-VY ECO - Mace Engineering Group
    PERFORMANCE 12mm PLENUM/MANIFOLD SPACER! Holden V6 VS-VY - Mace Engineering Group
HIGH RATIO ROLLER ROCKERS FOR HOLDEN ECOTEC AND L67 V6 - Mace Engineering Group

Also there is Lukey and Redback cat back exhausts on ebay for around $160 and $40 postage that you can bolt on your self also.

Get a K&N or Lukey filter panel for extra air intake as stock ones are a bit restrictive.

As for looks I wouldn't bother myself but its you car, its up to you if you would go looks or performance first.

Those rims will make your car look like a 4x4 unless you lower it, then you will need springs, struts/shocks and a camber kit for the rear.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have had a look at a VT Commodore Auto Antenna on eBay and it was going to cost $150, I might go hunting for a cheaper price when I'm in Perth next.

I like the looks of some of the links you posted. I bought the car with an exhaust already on it (Not too sure what type) also Pod filter, but it's not closed in so the hot engine air gets to it, so I am looking for a way to fix that.

I was looking at my rear tail lights and noticed lots of dust in the lenses. I took the bulbs out and where the bulbs go there's no dust there. It's between the outside casing of the lights and the casing where the blub fits, any idea how to clean the dust out?

I might leave the rims, I've only got this car as my main car for around 6-8 months until i get my VZ Calais. Still want to do a few things to this though.

Check out the trading part of the forums, a few people are wrecking VT's and VX's from memory. I don't think they would charge much.

With the lights you could try blow the dust out if you have access to a air compressor, or take them out and fill the bath with water and put them under and drain them a few time but I'm not sure how hard they will be to dry out after that.

Another way is hot water, like hot water straight from the kettle or a pot and put it in a esky big enough to fit the lights in, when the glue gets warm enough it turns to what looks like bubble gum and you can easily take the cover off but from what I have seen its messy and then you have to reseal it again too.

Found this ariel for $24 but its not auto

The same site has auto ones for $99 but that's a bit steep.

Thanks heaps for the links! Will check them out.

After I get all these small things done, then I will get my new air con compressor!

Is the aerial bent, or is it in good condition but just won't up or down? The other half's father had a stuffed aerial on his Patrol, and he bought a kit which enabled you to fix it yourself, cost about twenty bucks. Took a whole of five minutes and it goes up and down no problems. I think he got it off ebay, not sure what they are called though.

The whole thing I'm guessing was broken, so the owner before me replaced it was wire. :|

They're called seatbelt turret guides and those "Little" pieces of plastic will set you back about $47 to $50 each from a Holden Dealer (Spare Parts).
