well it just started a few hours ago, i was running petrol then I tried to flick over to lpg the engine would stall, I tried up to 20 times to start the car on LPG and it just would not start, so i got home on petrol, any Ideas on what could be the problem
was it a hot day and r u in perth vt vx and vy all had problems in heat especially when the tank is full it its a mixer system when u turn the key do u get a clunk in the boot from the tank. I had the same problem with my other commy vx berlina and could not get it to run on lpg it kept stalling left overnight and fine this morning but the tank was full and maybe couldnot expand out as when i refueled it didnot cut out at the 80% mark bugga ha another 100ks to the tank but bad when hot
yeah i live in perth... i left it over night still wont run, when i switch it to lpg it doesn't even sound like its attempting to kick in it jus starts on fuel then cuts outs when the lpg switch is switched on
too many variables
you'll need to get it to an LPG mech
but its weird... all of a sudden it was running fine no problems at all, and it still runs fine on petrol then all of a sudden bam, it wont tick over to LPG, could it just be an electrical problem, is there fuses for LPG i can check or something
mate there is a solenoid to swap from petrol to gas and back. I've seen it before a few times where a wire is off or broken or a fuse has died. You can do a temp fix to get it going by wiring it to gas only but you need to sort it properly really. To diagnose you need to find the solenoid and listen to it. Switch the ignotion on and off or do what you do to turn the gas system on. If its not makin a noise then see if you can actuate it direct off the battery. If still no noise then you need another one. If it works then sus out the wiring etc. Good luck mate
hey guys i fixed the problem it looked like the gas line to the engine had actually come loose, put it back on and tightened it properly and it works now... thanks for the advice room42 after looking at the solenoids i noticed that the actual line had come loose
