hey,
ok so when driving it feels like the front of the car is lifting up and when changing gears drops down hard and makes a thud?
only does this when changing gearings at around 4000-5000 rpm.
i know its not a rocket ship or some high power v8, only a 6 banger. but that wat it feels like.
in looking to fix and piss this problem off i replaced
strut- shorten monroe gt sport to suit the ssl front springs
strut cap and bearing - superpro
new bump stops and boots
z bar bush to chass- superpro
and has HD link pin bar and bushs from pedders.
any one else got this? or had?
my old falcon used to do that, i never did anythin bout it but thought maybe an engine mount
be worth havin a look
hmm, whats the best way to check our mounts?
I did mine last month. When the engine revs and generates twist, the left hand side of the engine lifts off its mount. The thud you hear is the engine dropping back onto its mount when you back off.
Get under the car and use a jack or a pry bar , lift the engine a little and you will see the squashed mush of what used to be your rubber engine mount.
It's not a biggy, just a balancing act in a hard to get to spot. An hour's work at the most if you have a hoist.
yepp. did the mounts 2 days ago,
by my self it took me 2 days or 2 half days,
Gonna agree, engine mounts, feels like the engine is lifting off the bay and falling back down. Which given one of the mounts was completely shredded- it was. Got mine replaced 6 months ago.
