So i just recently got my first car, a silver 1999 vt commodoore (berlina) sedan
id followed a guide to installing speakers which outlined about 7 basic steps to removing the interior of each door to get at the speakers, so far ive completed that and removed the stock speaker.
now the problem i face is the little plastic conenctor covering the wires, which would fit the stock speakers, but would need to be removed i believe for the sony xplod 6 inch 4 ways i plan on putting into the front two. i was hoping i could get some tips on how i might go about using the stock connections on the new speakers if possible, or what i have to do otherwise, what tools ill need and such.
would be a great help, thanks![]()
Cut the connector off and crimp/solder some female blade terminals on. Whatever size fits the speaker terminals.
Jaycar or any electrical shop will have loads of connectors to choose from for about 10c each
