engine light with a differance?

hey guys,
im new to the forum, i have a gen3 vt ss(5.7) man.

now the engine light comes on when the temp gauge reaches just past the C

i have no lost power everything is fine (oils and things)

i can turn the car off and straight back on and the engine light will stay off untill im in motion (maybe ten mins down the track).

ive checked the error fault codes and it returns with 12 which im assuming is ok because that means it hasnt logged any codes.

so whats should i check next guys your ideas would be appreciated

Try reseting the system by disconecting the battery for a few minutes (make sure you have the radio code)

ok buddy im on it ..... aftermarket sounds so no code needed . ill keep ya updated

no luck .............. as soon as it hit above the c on the temp gauge it came on , had the battery dis connected for around fifteen mins.

could it be , temp sensor ,possibly oil pressure sender or something simalar

Gen3 PCM doesnt show codes like the earlier ALDL setup.

You'll have to get hold of a scan tool or take it to a mechanic to find what the code is.

is it expensive to get them to put a tech 2 on it . ive heard some horror storys , ha ha ha
