    Default VT clubsport conversion

    Hey everyone,
I've just purchased a VT clubsport without an engine and gearbox.
Being a series one it originally the car had a 5L engine and the auto gearbox. Im going to convert it to a 5.7L and 6 speed manual box. I was just wondering if anyone here has done this before and could possibly tell me whats involved in successfully converting it over.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

You'll need a new crossmember and wiring loom for a start. You might have to replace the the dash as well.

It would be infinitely easier to put a 5ltr back into it.

Not to mention an LS1 and T56 is going to set you back about $7000 to start with.

easiest way is to buy a wrecked vt or vx with LS1 and 6 speed or front cut and swap everything over. did this with my wifes wh caprice. it was originally a v6. you will need to get it egineered but there's no issues because your doing a bolt in swap and not fabricating anything. Just make sure you dont buy a wreck that's been hit in the front or been swimming. I bought a vx berlina with 115,xxxkms from Pickles auctions in melbourne for $3250 which had taken a big hit in the rear. good luck
