    Default VT V6 Exhaust note

im probably going to offened alot of people here, everyone who has spent money on there exhaust system probably think it sounds great, but sorry guys all the ones ive herd sound like a cat pulled through a cheese grater and have that realy tinny screeky tone about them. So my question is has anyone out there made a good sounding exhaust system for a V6 that had a deep tone to it and a quiet burble

just running the standard calais twin system, had a listen on youtube but nothing realy exited me there, we have decided we might experiment with putting some copper pipe in mid section or aluminium

Honestly mine sounds pretty good, and I know the shitty sound you are talking about from most sixes though.

Id take a video or sound clip but thats not a good way to test sounds as it wont be the same in person.

hi 2DIE yeah but it would be a good indication of whats out there would be greatly appreciated, i know online wont be as good ... but might give me some more ideas .. its ironic ive got a crack in one of my cats and it sounds half decent as it gives it a lumpy note.. this crack its whats made me think the system needs replacing so im looking at options

Ive got a redback 2.5" with a hotdog in the rear, sounds tough ass, very deep. A little drony accelerating, but once at speed, its inaudible

i have a random 2.5 inch cat back on my vs, yes its not a vt but i have the note you want. its quiet and doesnt sound all raspy. deep sound and zero drone.

i think the key is one muffler, but a big muffler.

mate on a 6 you can achieve a low grumble note that you want but not have a raspry sound when you plant, you need the other 2 cylinders.

Mine sounds nice in my opinion, little raspry sounding when you plant it, but if i ont it is constantly grumbling sound when i drive around. End of the day liek i said, v8 is needed.

My mates got a VX S pac manual, ( im in love with it) and he doesnt know what exhaust he's got on it, but it sounds soo soo good,
and I want to know what has to be done to get that gurgling sort of backfire noise when he slows down, is it when he changes gears down?
and I got an auto so can you get that noise in autos?

Given the gurling backfire noise is made when your mates pushes his clutch pedal in and changes down gears thus thus making the revs drop, then rise then drop again as he slows down, no you wont get this same effect out of your auto.

No. Buy a V8 and get the sound your looking for, or accept you own a V6 and you just cant get a V6 to sound like a V8. If every V6 exhaust system you have heard has been shit in your opinion, I doubt your gonna find a magical exhaust system that puts out the sound you want that no one else has ever had or thought of before

It's a V6, they all sound pretty much the same, just the loudness varies. Personally, I don't really mind some V6's but most sound like shit. The only point of an exhaust on a V6 is to make it louder. The standard system flows well enough for a relatively stock engine.

You can spend around $1500 -$2000 on the exhaust and it make any more power, just shift where it is in the rev range.

People think their car goes harder with an exhaust because we all know noise = power.

The grumbling on back off comes with more advanced ignition timing.

The trick to a decent sounding 6 cylinder is to run a single system not a twin.

'Red Back Catback Exhaust 2.5' on mine and it sounds awesome ! Nice gurgle at low rpm and a real meaty roar for a v6 when you put your foot down. Been asked if it's a v8... lmao
Ask question and your an idiot for 5 min'. Don't ask and your an idiot for life...

v6s sound like crap, cheap systems sound tinny, get a v8 if you want decent note, im happy with the stock exhaust, nothing says hey im a d@@@ head more then a huge exhaust on a slow car
