VT SS ECU Help ???

Hi, I hope I've posted this in the right spot ... I have bought a 1998 VT SS however someone has taken out the ECU. I have no idea what I should be looking for (obviously another ECU) but does it have to be one that matches my car exactly or can you get a different one and just attach a different Memcal to it ??? I have very little understanding of ECU's and Memcals

vt onwards you need holden or someone else with a good scan tool to link the bcm to a new ecu

did u get to hear it running? i wouldnt buy a car without an ecu, sounds dodgy

Yeah I thought it was a bit dodgy myself .... (insert very long story here) ..... end of he story we ended up with an SS that we haven't even heard run yet. Very keen to get an ECU to see what level of disaster we have on our hands
