Default Do I need this bit?

The plastic bit that goes from your bonnet latch to the top of the radiator. In this pic it is removed. It just seems to cover the top of the radiator, but considering there's not really a gaping hole between the bonnet and the bumper I dont see much getting in there to hit the radiator anyways?

Helps the air flow through the radiator. But no you don't need it.

+10 gay points for the pod.

lol the pod was there when I bought the car, putting in a proper airbox is on my to-do list. The asthmatic wheezing sound of air flowing through the MAF is loud and gay. Been wating for the floods and rain to dissapear, cause the wreckers turns into shrek's swamp.

If you have a monster tacho and a shift light on a auto to go with that pod...? Please leave your Holden keys at the door. You have exceeded the Gay points system

Can you show us the Monster tacho photo's ?? ;-P lol

Yeah But I'd put that plastic back on, it helps keep the top of the radiator cool plus looks better

Having a pod filter was giving me an error code 32, Air flow sensor... since acquiring a normal air box from the wreckers last week the error has gone away :P Also, f*ck all y'all. lol

lol. i use to know a bloke with a vn 5 litre. first thing he did was cut the springs, put interceptors on it, mounted a pod filter, monster tacko and put venecians in...we 'lost' contact . the cover looks way better especially painted. or move it and put a CAI kit on it.

While we're at it, the "plastic bit" is in fact an air dam, forcing air through the radiator rather than letting said air flow over the top of the radiator. More efficient cooling. Don't all VTs have a OTRCAI stock? I only ask because mine does but I have seen a few that don't. Maybe owner modded? Like the previous owner of psycho smurfs one

After taking the tank off the side of my old Radiator I'd be getting that plastic back on your radiator, Because because them shitty pellets holden put in your radiator block most of it up and that little bit of radiator (150mm) you can see is the only part thats not blocked

I got told that the pellets are only there to supposedly help the seals on the water pump last longer...or are they supposed to do something else? i havnt used them for the last 20,000kms and havnt noticed anything bad. Yet?

Looks like corrosion (rust scale) from the block due from having incorrect coolant mix and/or too long between coolant changes.

The black blastic halds deflect air through the radiator, you will miss it come 40+ degrees heat.

As for the pod, sad but each to their own.

Make sure you have a milo-tin for an exhaust tip to go with the pod filter

Wow, just saw the radiator condition, I wouldn't even play with that, just replace with new.

Looks like it hasn't had the right coolant/water ratio used, or probably had just water in it for a good long time.

I would wonder about the rest of the motor, in particular the welsh plugs.....

wow that radiator is shocking, you dont have to use the pellets if you have a v6 its only for gen 3, and even then the pellets are only required when using holden coolant, tectaloy orange ant nulon red are fine. and for the air dam, looks better with it on and agree with turbobrian, my clubby was heating up without the air dam on when it was 43 up here the other week.
