VT Supercharged Auto Trans problem

Hi I'm having problems with my trans when it shifts into 4th it shakes the whole car so I have to keep it in 3rd any ideas what could be the problem??

does it happen at a certain rpm? ie. 1500rpm coasting in 4th at 90k's? or does it do it in 3rd at about 65k aswell?

is the shaking your idle jumping all over the place?

your 3/4 band is stuffed

not a major repair but you have to take the box out

are you also having problems with reverse?

band is also applied for 2nd, so there should be some indication when changing to second gear if the band is indeed failing.

To replace the band you'll need a few gaskets as the oil pump needs to come off for access to the band and if memory serves (can't be bothered going out to the shed to check) the valve body needs to be removed to gain access to the band anchor pin.
