Hey guys i recently bought a 2001 VX Commdore (on LPG) and ive done the following things to the car.
-Taken all the seats out to vacuum, in doing so disconnected all the electronics from the front seats
-Disconnected the battery and entered the Radio pin number wrong 3 times(the recent owner of the car changed the radio so the pin i had was wrong)
-Removed the radio for 5 minutes then put it back in place.
Now for some reason whenever turn the key to accessories i get the Airbag warning light and the alarm??
Can anybody see anything obvious that i may have done that would've triggered it??
or do i simply just need holden to use the scan tool to reset it?
Note: i haven't actually tried driving the car since i bought it as i haven't got a roadworthy/insurance.
The problem is that you should have disconnected the battery before disconnecting the wiring for the seat belt pre-tensioners. You will need to have it reset with a Tech 2 (scan tool).

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Ive seen this happen if the ignition key is turned to on, while part of the SRS (airbag or pretensioners) is disconnected. The SRS does a self test every time the key is turned to on,and if part of the SRS system is disconnected,it will log an SRS error code and turn the SRS dash light on.And as already mentioned, you need to see someone with a Tech 2 scantool to get the error code cleared.
thanks for the help guys, do you know roughly how much a reset costs? and do i take it to the dealership or holden mechanic
so when i disconnected the eletronics in the seats i disconnected a part of the SRS?
Holden will charge about $100 for the honour.
Yep you disconnected the seatbelt pretensioners and (if you have them) the side impact air bags.

There are plenty of mechanics and auto electricians who have a compatible scan tool that can reset it, so ring around and get some prices. I recently had mine reset for $10.
If you regularly get you car serviced at a Holden dealership and they know you, they might not charge you much, if at all.
