hey guys,
Getting a maffless tune today done at APS in frankston, they seem like pretty nice people,
they said i will be pulling close to 240rkw, i will let you know how it goes, and the difference between how it was and how it will be, for those wanting to know how much difference there is.
they are putting in a custom air induction, i chose to go with the pod enlcosed induction as opposed to the otr, it was recommended i do it that way, as i do a lot of long driving, and the otr would get very dirty quickly.
also letting any of those that are interested i will have a k&n pod filter setup genIII vt-vx for sale $230 ONO in very good condition. any of those interested pm, or call or text kosta on 0422 984423
got the car back yesterday afternoon, the guys at aps did a fantastic job, even washed my car for me haha,
car was first dynod at 185.7rwkw , now after the tune and air box, it has 248.2 rwkw and 694nm of torque. pretty impressed with it, really goes so much better now.
Could you whack a dyno graph up bud?
Cool.
Be prepared for the people calling BS on that dyno figuer I'd say though.
What do you think is bullshit about it? The fact that he's claiming it made 248rwkw or are you suggesting the dyno is happy?
I'm not suggesting anything.
I don't think its BS at all.
I like those figures, where abouts in the range is the peak torque?

good power there mate! what other mods have you done? full exhuast, cam? ect cheers![]()
good numbers have got full exhaust system on the wagon and are lookingat getiing vcm otr and tune and was told that would be the figure id be looking at ,thats with 270kw manual,, was vx 220 0r 250 standard
VX was 220kw@fly wheel standard.
Which is reflected in his 189kw@rw base run.
vx's were 225 standard
Chev badges are an instant fail
lol, It could be anywhere between 200 and 230wk at the fly wheel standard. 5kw can be changed by the ambient temperatures.
185rwkw stock seems right on the money but 248 seems quite high unless he has a full twin 3 exhaust
Don't need a twin 3" to get 250kw@rw.
Twin 2.5" with high flow cats and proper extractors will do it though. (Not shorties)
Full system for sure though.
Sorry to say it, but they probably fiddled with the temp settings to make the dyno happier than usual.
248 is alot. Running airbox, tune and exhaust, i'd expect to be seeing 235ish as an average.
When my car had it's base run done, which was stock airbox, twin 2.5inch catback i pulled 190.8
After tune, 4>1 extractors and hiflow cats and an intake pipe to suit deleted MAF, i saw 220.
30kw from headers, cats and a tune. And you're saying you got 62.5 from a tune and an airbox modification....ooookay.

6hp could have been down to the ambient temp on the day though.
here are the results of the tune. Car has pacemaker extractors, magnaflow high flow cats, and supercat 2.5 twin exhaust.

That looks fairly genuine.
haha more people trying rip off dyno figures, he has a manual so theres a few more ponies in the reading, but that said ive seen a few VE ss's exhaust/otr/tune around 240kw both in manual and auto so take the dyno as a grain of salt really. either way as long as your happy with the car![]()
That's pretty much it.
I've been to dyno days and seen near identicle cars run and make totally different numbers. I think it really comes down to the tune and condition of the engine/driveline.
didnt surfwagon vz senator made 280rwkw with tune only through oztrack? a ve shold be making somewhat near that
