How Much To Fit V8 Engine?

Hey guys i have a 5 speed manual VT V6 and i have a 5.0ltr V8 possibly lined up for it, just wondering how much it would cost alone to get the old engine taken out and the V8 put into it?

be cheaper to go out and buy a vt ss with a 5.7 or a vx, forget the 5lt

Really? Coz the 5.0ltr is only costing me $650 or something off a mate, where as the SS would be like $8000

theres a bit more involved in doing the conversion, i think you would have to get a new transmission/diff etc, not to mention wiring looms, computer, i dont know all the details but ive read plenty of times on here its too much of a head f%$k, but if you and your mate are good at pulling engines out then i say go for it! only thing is your ecotec with a few bolt ons is not that much slower than a 5lt

Yep.
Transmission, Xmember, Loom, PCM, Ignition moduel, Radiator, fuel lines and probably a bunch of other stuff I havent considered.

Point taken, might look into a few bolt ones or small modifications instead, i also read you need bigger brakes and rotors etc for the V8's as they are bigger than the 6's factory. Sounds like too much trouble

lol 50kgs is moot. Power and torque take care of it .

Just save your money and buy a V8 powered car, don't waste cash on the V6.
