    Default throtle pedal issues

hey guys got a vt commy executive...my problem is the pedal is locking every now and then when i plant it but my main issue is that the pedal can go in and out easy with slight pressure on it how ever when i push it in it does not rev almost like i have to push the pedal to 40% before any throtle is added to the engine..any ideas!!?

thanks in advance for the help!

You need somebody to help here. Get the volunteer to sit in driver seat while you watch the throttle. If they push the pedal 1/4 down and you see no movement, I think it might be new throttle cable time. I also suggest that you use the VX cable. It it less prone to the problems the VT cable has. The main difference is the VX one is a lot shorter and is differently routed ie does not go around the strut tower and seems to be a better quality for some reason. There is also a chance that your throttle butterfly may be sticking, needing a clean.

throttle cable ..... when mine was stuffed it was half sticky like that , the throttle would increase with sharp jabs/jerks rather than increase smoothly... but if i took the cable off and pushed the able in and out it would feel free and smooth... it was only getting stuck when was hooked up and it had the pressure on it and bends..... the sticking that i could feel with my foot was real minor, but was alot worse on the throttle end....(wouldnt have been 40% thou before the rev's increase, mayb 10-20%, was just everything flexing till the sticky bit let go then i would get a whole lot of throttle at once)

used to change back down a gear at 100 easier too ,(think was cause of the sharp jolts on the throttle from it sticking)
