well this is a strange one but my VT stalls when I turn on the air-con.
the car has been running fine and then all of a sudden this happens. the air-con compressor was replaced less than a year ago, so it's in good condition.
any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks
Does the belt squeal before it stalls?
If it does i would say your compressor is seized, or something has gone wrong with the compressor internals and it is hydraulic locking.

clean out your throttle body and Idle air control valve
belt doesn't squeal. I cleaned the throttle body as it was really dirty.
I don't know what the idle air control valve looks like. does anyone have a photo of it and its location under the hood. I did hear its near the throttle body.
thanks.

nice, much appreciated. thank you.
bye the way, is a dirty throttle body and idle air control valve likely to make the car stall when I chuck on the air-con?
carbon builds up in the IAC port and restricts airflow, if its bad enough it completely blocks off the port and will stall the engine when extra load is added to the motor, IE... A/C compressor kicking in
