Hey all. Just recently I've had this really annoying stalling issue with my VT ecotec. Basically what happens is every time i hit around the 60 to 80 kmph and then let my foot off the accelerator and either role or start braking the whole car just shuts down and the battery, oil and engine light come on... I can't seem to figure what it may be. It also feels as if i get stuck in first for longer than usual and my revs go up to about 3-4 thousand... Anyone??
Just a few things to clarify, the car is on LPG, I've recently changed the spark plugs and yes there is plenty of oil in the engine.
I had the same problem recently, my car didnt cut out as much only once every month but some thing lights on dash come up and that. Its loacted above or below the harmonic balancer, but if u take it to a mechanic there computer will pick up the problem, the holding first gear could also result from this beacuse the timing is out, check Crank sensor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for more help.
I know i was thinking it could be that but its a bit hard to say really. Number one it does it every time i drive now and secondly 90% of the time it will stall only in third so around 70-80K's once i let go of the accelerator and start rolling or brake. Also another thing I've noticed is when i give it some it feels as if it slips or something from 1st to 2nd... Strange! Ive taken the sensor off and gave it a clean but still nothing obviously. Ive checked on ebay for these sensors, is it anything mechanical or just this little electronic sensor that would need replacing???
