    Default No 4th gear/overdrive

    Hi , my Vt wont change into 4th , every other change is smooth and o'k' , does'nt vibrate just doesnt change , there is no slippage , what could it be ?, ta.

    Probably a shift solenoid. Need to be checked from under the oil pan.

    A faulty TPS would more than likely make ALL the gears shift really late and really hard.

    more than likely but worth checking before pulling the auto sump off. Do you have any fault codes?

    Thanks for all replies , fluid looks o'k' , i know how to check error codes on my vr/vs commy's is the vt the same? , ta.

    Yep same. Bridge pin 5&6.

    Is the engine light on? If no then it's not the shift solenoid.
    VX2 Executive Sedan - 3.8L Auto (for now)
    VT SS Sedan - Supercharged V6 Auto (Genuine L67 SS)
    VN SS Sedan - 5.0L 5 Speed Manual (Currently Balga spec waiting for panel and paint)

    high coolant temp will stop it from shifting into 4th as well, but my bets are on the tps

    Hi , just to update you all , mate said could be tps prob like someone said , but first he said lets check fuses , he found a buggered 20 amp fuse , changed it , and after that wammo , drove around locally and it seemed to change into 4th o'k' ! , this cant be possible can it ? , take it for a proper hike tommora and let u know.

    Hi again , went for 80 km drive expressway/hills/suburban , got no idea what make the fuse go , but runs o'k' now , ill keep you's posted .
