Default VX drivers seat into VT!

    Hey guys

Picked up a new drivers seat today out of a VX as I was assured they were the same.... Wrong! The plugs that control the motors don't match! The VT one has 2 prongs (red and black) while the seat out of the VX has 3 prongs, 2 black in the same terminal a red one and a purple with white stripe! Is it a case of splicing? Any help would be great!!

can u define a little bit please bud, you should have one for the pretensioner which should have a yellow plug and sheath over it at the bottom near the slide rail and depending on what parts move what is electronic on it??? just front and back up and down????

The connectors at the base of the seat that connect to the body harness are the same. Don't worry about the motor connection under the seat the loom between the body harness and the motor harness sorts out all of that.

Here is the relevant wiring diagram to show you that 4 way seats and 2 way seats are interchangeable.

Being a 4 way adjustable seat is there an additional connector present for a side impact airbag that is confusing you? You will not need to connect the side impact airbag unless your car had them already.

If you don't mind me asking, wouldn't that look odd having mismatching seats???

The connectors for the Side Impact airbags are also next to the motors. The SIA is actually IN the chair itself. If you got a VT series 2 it would be the same, but not a VT series 1.

It's not wise to splice because if you get it wrong or even get a single strand of copper sticking out the side, you might fire off the airbag.

I'm betting you have a VT series 1, because I have a VT 2 and I've put a VX leather seat in mine.

I've put VT series 2 seats into a VT series 1 without a problem. The connectors are all the same.

its a big white one...it could be for the side airbags..which i dont have and yes i am a series 1 VT......ill have another dig around for anothr plug...may just be hiding in the chair somewhere!

Ive got an auto trimmer taking the old cloth of the drivers seat and putting it onto the new one...leather just isnt an option yet :P

hey guys, had a bit of a look last night and took some shots!

Did find another plug hidden in the seat, but still nothing matches!

These are the 2 wires on the body, Yellow is seatbelt pretensioner and the other was for the motors on the original seat.

    New seat has three plugs!

Seat belt pretenisoner. (which is connected)

    This one

And the one i found tucked away last night!

Any further help would be good!
