    Default Clutch and Change Q

Hi guys running vt 5.7ltr 6spd ,have twin 2 1/2 inch xforce muffler system try-y pacemakers and a OTR CAI with Mafless tune , just wondering what clutch i should look at putting in the commodore ? just keep a standed clutch or go for a Heavy duty clutch?
Also what brands etc are a better choice?

Last question roughly at what RPM do some of you guys change gears (In your gen3 6spd)when your say racing a mate or on PRIVATE road lol
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them

depends on what you wan tyour clutch to feel like really,

theres heavy duty... and then theres "heavy duty" which is a bit of a pig to drive but also very fun

extreme does a half ceramic half kevlar clutch, they arent too bad for a minor upgrade, great grip and are about $1200

or the textralia range is the "heavy duty" side of the board... think they start at $1700 ish and go up from there

theres hundreds of combinations of materials and pressures plates out there, probably best to ahve a look at some peoples my ride threads and see what theyre running and how they find it to drive

find out where your max power is in the rev range and change gears roughyl there.. for eg,

my cars revs to 5500, but max power is at 5100-5200 so no point going past that right?!?!

sort of, depends on your power curve.... kinda of hard to explain, but just say your peak engine power is at 5200, depending on your power curve you may be better running up to rev limter, as it may still be making more power then if you changed early and dropped to low in the revs, ie 4000 -5500, may be you best power. not 3700 - 5200.... if that makes sense

as for the clutch, i just had a exedy custiioned button clutch put in, very nice to drive, take offs took some getting used, still gets the real low shudder when the clutch is engaging, but not as bad or as hard to use and the extreme heavy duty clutch, which i test drove before deciding on the exedy
