gear knob change! help
hey guys!
i just bought a 5 speed vy manual gear knob and boot off ebay!
the bracket on the vy gear knob is square and much larger than the bracket on my vx which is oval and smaller. how will i get this to fit? has anyone done this before! any advice appriciated! also help with removing the vx gear knob! ive read other pages that it just pulls straight off!
if anyone has step by step procedure that would be great!! thanks guys!

To get the gear knob off, you have already answered it, just pull up HARD don't twist as this will break it not that it matters if your putting a new one on. as for making a vy one fit i have no idea.

thats right ^^^^ dont try and twist it off. just pull up hard. its tight. theres also a zip tie under the boot holding it to the gear knob. when you pull it off, you will see a plastic sleeve left on the gear shifter. leave it on and just push ur new yv knob on.

hey guys!! i did it all in 2 seconds! the brackets just unclips so easily aswel! ive taken it to a motor trimmer and im getting a custom made boot with 4 double red stitching onto black leather. and for that to be done on my old bracket. as for anyone who wants to buy a vy silver stitching boot plus bracket i have one for sale!!

$100 for the boot i got pics on my phone but i gotta put them up! ill try do them today!

i have the same gear knob but just the standard black one. i gave up on looking for a silver one lol
the silver boot would look good on mine but $100 isnt what i wanna spend on one.

ahahaha yeah i spend a bit more that $100.
the gear knob was the one u showed me on ebay mate! and then that came with the bracket and the silver boot! which im gonna sell now! so i took that apart and took it to an auto trimmer in parramatta and i designed the boot to fit my old bracket and he did the rest! with the knob and the custom made boot all up it was $170. but i should have just bought the nob instead of the boot and bracket which i didnt need
