i am going to sell my L67 berlina (think there is pics on my profile), it is my wifes day care runner and has never been flogged, it is completely stock except a set of 18inch chromies and i got a chrome grill for it. every thing works on it except rear electric window "thanks Kids" and overall i would say it is in very good condition. 186k's, i have it listed on carsales.com.au for 2 weeks for and dropped it to $8850 and i havent even had a enquiry besides 4 petroleoum engineers ( nigerian scammers). am i been too greedy on the price or are people just not spending money? there is other berlinas on there for the same price with more kms and just ecotec for the same price. let me know what your thoughts are?
an issue at the moment for car buyers is all the uncertainty with whats going on overseas with oil, and L67 just doesnt have the same appeal it used to, to buyers who are worrying about fuel prices, among other things, it may be worth $8850 to you but its not what its valued at
* Private Price Guide $4,500 - $6,200
* Trade In Price Guide $2,400 - $4,100
now add in a broken electric window
also if you have the old rims put them back on, the new chromies are hideous
haha thanks lufkin, cant say the wheels are my "choice" either, however they were cheap as chips, unfortunatly when you have kids and a wife $3500 sets of wheels are just out of the question. so you are saying drop it to around th $5500 mark? hmm nup as you qouted this car is worth more then that too me, ill just keep it and sell the stato me thinks.... thanks for your input
unrealistic price
'performance' VT/VXs (as much as 5.0/5.7 and L67s are) are a pretty dead market especially with $1.50 fuel
lots of SS LS1s for less than this so why would you buy the 'inferior' 5.0 and L67
when i say 'inferior' i mean perception
Yeap I think the $1.50 per litre is the killer lately..
i paid 5.5K for my fully optioned vx exec 190K, 1 owner,log books and with 12 months warranty from a dealer
since you can get a vxss for 9k id say it a bit much
i figure if i cant get at least $7500- $8000 for it,ill keep it.
wtf is a fully optioned executive? correct me if im wrong but i beleive executives are the base model, whats the options? a vinyl floor, a bench seat and a hole in the roof for a taxi sign?![]()
^ That description sounds more like an old Belmont than an executive.
You may see that sort of price you are asking for in other blokes adverts, BUT are they selling, or are only being hopefull as you are. Poke your head into a car auction and see what vehicles there are going for, you will be dismayed, just as I was! Unfortunately it is only worth what some one will pay. Better to hang on to it or else get what is offered and then don't look back.
There are not too many winners in the used car sales club.
just bought a 2002 5.7 statesman with 167k on it for 8500. been for sale for a while so i just made the offer and he took it
i do as the voices tell me
