Where is the starter motor on the gen 3 and how do u get to it?

my starter motor is just started to play up and just want to know where it is so if it does play up again I can give it a hit with a hammer or sumthing till I can book it in to get fixed? How much is a starter motor worth supply and fit?

Driver's side at the rear of the engine near the bottom of the engine. Access from underneath the car. No idea on prices.

There's no much room but you should be able to hit it with something.
