Change VT dash cluster from 1 to 3 windows

I have a 1998 V6 VT Berlina witht he 3 window dash cluster that was recently written off
I've bought a 1998 V6 VT Executive I've been in the process of changing things over between the 2 cars and was wondering:
Can i just do a straight swap with the clusters (I've been searching the forums for a few days now there seems to be some mixed reactions)
Apparently an airbag light will come on
The odometer in the exec is 230k and the berlina was 220k (So i think i have to go to a holden dealer to get them to use a tech 2 to change the kms and reset the airbag lights?)
I think thats all i need to know. Any help is appreciated

can be $50 or $250 depending on who does it

Airbag lights are done from the BCM I believe you'll just need your odometer reprogrammed.

Aw well, cant hurt to just plug it in and see how it goes, worst comes to worst just change it back i spose.
Now i gotta find a thread on how to pull it apart lol

You cant reprogram your ODO to match your old KM's easily. You have to go to a cluster specialist and will cost $200+, not worth it. Airbag light WILL come on if configuration is different. also, your berlina would have had climate, that will also need to be changed in your cluster.

try taking out ur battery b4 you change them over?

if ur belina cluster has the white back housing it can b changed no worries with a tech 2. but theres a few more features in the belina cluster over the exec 1 so u'll need 2 get other things rest and adjusted 2 suit say like ur pre tensioners, diff ratio (if changed) wheels size ect.... aswell as ur air bag will need re programing. Dr bob on this forum does them. did mine years back 4 only $150

If u got the black housing u should b fine also as it has less KMs u can always add on the KMs but u cant take them off if the cluster has gone over 100kms. Black housing = VX cluster, White housing = VT cluster

climate control wont have anything 2 do with the cluster im pretty sure as thats a BCM job

Dr Bob is doing one for me . The info needed is engine & trans type, tyre size, airbag setup, cruise, lpg, trac control and climate control .

Theres no hassle its all plug and play. who eva uses the tech 2 unit 2 change ur cars details ect.... just needs ur cars details that the cluster is goin into so everything matches again.

the other 2 extra windowe, can show fule per 100km, dist til empty .. etc
its like the single window cycle.. but spread over the 3 windows.. so u can 3 times as much at once..

In my berlina i had avg speed, average fuel, intant fuel, had a trip computer, said the amount of petrol i had left in litres, and i could enter in how mank kms to my destination and it would estimate my trip time.
So in everyones opinion is it worth spending $150 to get it configures or just keep the single window. Being a student I'm already spending more than I own n my savings are slowly dwindling lol.

it'll work exactly the way it did in ur berlina so if u were happy with that then yes its worth it. if it dont bother u wat displays u have (basic) then being a uni student i guess u could better spend the money elsewhere. totally up 2 u man.
