hey guys whats up>>>>>
every commodore owner should try this immediately and I'll bet ya you'll be shocked by the good results and by the crap inside the plenum chamber. the moment i finished and switch the car on and drive i swear to god i noticed the difference straight away car breath more ( super response) better fuel economy although my car before that was really good but my problem was a shudder at idle which cost me a fortune trying to changing parts starting from maf sensor ending at the fuel filter.
it only cost me 2$ for Allan key and 12$ for nulon carby cleaner that's all...
i wish that i could get all the chamber out but unfortunately the fuel rail and the injectors must come out with the chamber so thats why i didnt touch the manifold bolts at all ending up puting some toilet paper in the manifold runners.
goodluck
Nice so you fixed your problem now well done mate after spend a shit load
Yeah works good ey mate, i used to do that on my vs every month or so pull the tb off and totally clean it and same as the plenum like u did, works a treat, i also noticed running it all the time on bp 98 it wasnt getting as dirty
Old news! Works good, gives you a slightly better fuel to air ratio, that's about it, cleaning your senors and throttle body will give you the better response.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
thanks guys.... i wish i could take all the chamber out but as i said its a bit risky coz the fuel rail and the injectors must come out with the chamber and i dnt have any idea bout how to dis the fuel lines or to put back the injectors with the o rings on...
guys i was wondering from where all this shit deposits came from?????? and how it ended up in the plenum??????
and the difference in performance after cleaning it is???? I'd be looking at my pcv valve and overall engine health to treat the cause, not the symptom myself.....

guys i was wondering where is the pcv valve located? i saw a thread on a vt its on thr left side there is a hole its in there but on my vx i didnt noticed anything.
Comes out of the rocker cover and is piped to the throttle body and/or piping that leads to the plenium chamber. What you are looking at in there is the oil that is siphoned off the pcv. It's normal to build up some black over the years but for it to be very wet and slimy = problem in the motor. Some black dry stuff stuck to the walls of the plenium/runners is normal and won't affect performance on a street car in any noticeable way.

It does really make you wonder how much more crap is right down in there blocking or semi blocking the injector flow and maybe affecting the spray pattern.
I recently pulled mine apart as you have to clean it up and it wasn't as black as yours, but it did contain a very fine sandy residue that was quite thick.
Ummmmmmmmm I would be very worried if all this carbon deposits made its way into your fuel rails and then into the injectors. It does really make you wonder how much more crap is right down in there blocking or semi blocking the injector flow and maybe affecting the spray pattern.

the pcv valve is in the join between the plenum and intake runners and comes up the hole thats in front of the inlet runners near the throttlebody tunnel of the plenum the hole in the back of the manifold is the brake vacum hose barb and no oil comes from there .theres also exhaust coming in the hole up the side of the TB tunnel at the rear
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

theres nothing to look at its all working as expected apart from extra oil from a wearing engine the pcv valve lets all the stagnant oily vapours out the crankcase into the plenum when under closed throttle and light throttle cruise to scavange out the caustic leftovers from the oil burning as well as to keep oil fumes out the atmosphere for emissions reasons.you could fit a new pcv valve that may help a little from not sucking open as easy and sealing a bit better than an old worn one they dont last forever

yes the pcv valve is in a hole about 20mm wide with a spring on top holding it down in the hole when the plenum bolts down.as for gaskets not sure if the later models run reusable rubber orings or gaskets

hey guys i was trying this morning to remove the bolts underneath the fuel rail to seperate the chamber from the manifold without taking out the fuel rail and injectors but there is no way in hell to take these shit bolts out!!!!
Nice job Casper. Amazed at how much difference it makes. After catching the main crap in the paper, did u continue to spray all the way down the chambers or did u just wipe as much of it off as u could? I wonder if it'd benefit spraying all the way into the chambers as well?
