A; NO.
B; Leaky fuel line/joint.
C; Probably, skill dependant.
D; Yes.
When you smell fuel next time, lift the bonnet and have a sniff and look around the lines around the engine and down the fire wall and under car. Check the filler pipe going into the tank.
leaking injectors
Sounds stupid but could be the fuel cap, this happened to me about 3 months ago and I had a look on here to see if anyone had any similar stories. It's said that the o-ring on the cap ain't of the best quality and to tighten the fuel cap one full revolution after it starts to click, this way it apparently seals better... All I know is it fixed it for me!
rotten egg smell usually means you're just running a little rich...not sure about the gas smell though...maybe the aircon condenser is on its way out...
Check the rubber lines in the engine bay and around the fuel pump/filter.

I'm taking it that the fuel cap tightening method didn't work??
In terms of your A/C smelling like rotten eggs I have no idea what that could be about.
Back to your fuel smell problem, when I was searching people spoke of something like needing a new carbon canister in your fuel tank or something along those lines :S
I could smell fuel when I was driving around after forgetting to plug my purge solenoid back up.

The flex hose from the bulkhead to injector fuel rail (behind throttle body) sprung a leak on my old girl last year. Smelt it in the cab with windows open. It only leaked with the motor running, due to the pump pressure. Motor off, no leak visible due to the fuel quickly evaporating on top of hot engine. Simple fix!......about 600mm of GOSS 8 mm fuel hose and a couple of worm drive hose clamps at each end.
So jonesy, have you lifted the bonnet and looked at the fuel hoses yet? Do it with the donk running.
Let us all know what you see!
Well!, If you can't smell anything under the lid, I possibly could be coming from elsewhere beneath the car. Stick your nose next to the rear right wheel arch, next to filler pipe. Can you smell fuel in the boot?
This is nuts. my A/C smelt like rotten eggs not long ago. and just tonight the cabin smelt like gas.
