If you mean how do you access the fuel tank from the top, to get to the area there is a panel in the bottom of your tray, they have several screws holding it down. Simply remove the screws and the panel lifts up. (If you have a plastic tray liner you will need to remove this first)
But as stated you wont put a sub in there :S If you want a sub then you'll have to look at installing it behind the seats. You can get special made sub boxes for the ute. Like this:
HOLDEN COMMODORE UTE SUB SUBWOOFER BOX VU VY VZ LS1 (eBay item 180647622692 end time 04-Apr-11 21:52:58 AEST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats

Id say he wants to do this, which is a common thing to do in the utes. To the OP, the panel should just be held in by screws.
    EDIT: Not my pic.
EDIT:Looks like it has been done, Just realized the pic i found, Is from the OP's my ride thread.

Well there you go. lol. Ive never seen it before. Id have thought it wouldnt give very good sound to in the cab, seeing as it pointing straight at a metal panel that faces into the tray which faces into the middle of nowehere anyway. lol
