Body kits from Car Mate

Hi Guys,

Has anybody bought body kits from carmate.com.

I am looking to buy this one(Link Below) but from what I have heard so far these after market kits cost a lot of money to actually get them on the car and painted. I want my VT to look completely different to what is on the road at the moment.

I second that TonyJZX. I am in love with my VT, bought the car for $6000. Have spent alot on the way I wanted it. And most of the roads here in adelaide are 60km/hr so no point having a V8(Although i would like to have one with 5.7 GEN III engine) So now its the body kits turns.

Yeah not to keen on it either, not to keen on the price as well and thats just for the front bar, don't forget you need the side skirts, rear bar and that bonnet to match!

Thats it, if your gonna do it do it properly, Because the front bar by itself will look STUPID.

I am going get the front bar, the hood and the fenders from this picture. Have something else for side skirts and rear bar plus spoiler.

Personally I like the bar but it will look weird with the number plate on it. Also if I was you I would steer well clear of the bonnet and guards. It could look quite neat if you kept it subtle.

i like it more so coz its different from every other boring SS and clubby out there that every man and his dog has or has changed into. i dont regret buying my bar 1 bit but only thing i would suggest is making sure u get extra supports fitted so the bar lasts longer being fibre glass. (assuming thats wat it is?)

i think if u go this far with that sorter bar u may aswell go with the guards and bonnet. i'll b puttin a monaro bonnet on wen funds permit.

Is it fibre glass and was it a quick fit

Yeah mines fibre glass, if u find some1 who actually doesnt mind working with fibre glass and knows wat their doing u can pretty much do anything 2 it. Not alot of panel beaters like playing with fibre glass as it needs more work 2 get a better result so most just wack it on and thats it, which u cant do.

Mine all fits perfect it just has extra supports on either side of the brake ducts, dam and in the wheel arches, strengthened the 3 tabs that get screwed down above ur grills n thats all mine needed.

All up including side skirts, rear lip, big rear wing similar 2 wats in ur pic but not so out there and the front bar all up was $1200 from SSV a few years ago. A mate of my bros painted all my gear 4 $1000 plus fitting (which i now regret gettin it done cheaply) which i ended up having dramas with him being slack which took him over 9 months 2 complete lol so i ened up taking everything n left it at that 2 find some1 else 2 finish it off coz the front bar needs a touch up as he had a couple runs on it under the grill that i didnt like but havent found the time 2 get it all re done together so it currently gets put away 2 save any damage or further marks on it ay.

No issues at all appart from the obvious high speed bups ect.... but i only got SL all round so its not rediculously low and the front seems 2 sit higher at the front compared 2 the back neways so the bar seems 2 level out the same height all round. my lowest point is still my tow hitch.

Y? 4 the fact u dont like it on a V6? we'll just go spend 10k just 2 satisfy u huh? pfftttttttttt how bout we do wat we want not the other way round. who knows conversion mayb on the cards if funds permit but that doesnt mean u gotta hold off on the kit.
