I was given a vt calais 98 (thanx mum and dad) however I have had a few serious issues with the car dying on me. speciffically at traffic lights.

first the car was having trouble changing gears smoothly at high speeds, eventually the car when stopped would shudder and almost turn off...eventually it would completely die.. the mechanic changes the crank angle sensor?

a few weeks later same thing this time car shuddered once and was fine all week. went to start my car oneday and it wouldnt kick over. NRMA said it had something to do with the module. changed module

a week or so later same thing, sent the part back as faulty however nothing appeared faulty car was fine.

oh also at some stage car dies on a 3 lane freeway- no warning!

car started to shudder today....now i have aprox a week before it will go on me again judging by history. all checks come up ok, car wont die all the time which apparently makes it harder to solve.

do i trade in the car? or can i fix this? my apologies I am not familiar with cars I can only describe what happens in laymans terms, any suggestions would be great I am a full time uni student with super limited funds. so whatever is cheaper and more reliable would be fantastic!
