Default Some advice for my GEN lll!

    Hey all.

Im sure theres a bunch of guys that have done what im planning to do to my car. So i though id start a convo and see if i can get some advice.

So i have the good old LS1 Motor in a 2002 VX series 2 SS manual.

Ive had a Howard cam, springs and push rods done

SS Inductions throttle body with a growler cold air intake.

Pacemaker 1 7/8 or 1 3/4?. With high flow cats custom made 3 inch with hot dog mufflers.

Bugger and slotted front breaks lowered on king springs sitting on 19's.

Has the standard clutch and standard gears.

When it had the 2 1/2 xflow exhaust it was making 270 kw at the wheels. Since the 3 inch feels like abit more now.

So im wondering should a go supercharger? Or do the heads lifters etc?. Can some people give me some advice just to get an idea?.

My plan was to get the diff gears 3.7 ported heads, Lifters, Fast intake manifold. Clutch and a 6 psi supercahrger kit?

    Comments would be helpful

    Thanks

It's all about personal choice and budget. If you do go with a blower get a PD not a centrifugal.
And you'll definitely want a HD clutch to go with it, the standard one will get munched with the blower.

The SSind throttle bodies aren't too bad and the growler is barely okay, but an OTR is better.

To the OP, it depends what you want in the end and the state of your bank account.

A nice head package would set you back around $2500-3000 fitted and tuned and you'd probably need to add injectors, so figure on around $350 for them.

A PD blower would be in the vicinity of $10-12k+ to do properly (Harrop or PWR PD blower kit and supporting fuel mods).

The blower will kill the head/cam, but costs a lot more.

Either way, you need to fit a good quality clutch.

    I'd recommend 3.91 or even 4.11 diff gears with a manual LS1.

Best thing would be to make your mind up fully, have reasonable expectations, then go for what you want and be happy with the outcome. Chopping and changing your mind only ends up costing you heaps more $$$.

    cheers
