Hey guys i know lots of people have issues with camber, i will soon be putting 19's on my car then will be lowing it on to SL's, how is this going to effect my camber?
Cheers Jonesy
You will need to install a 2 point camber kit with that set up so I've been told

Err it depends what your camber is like now. The lower you go the more it hangs in.
Wheels in themselves will not alter camber what so ever. The car will be prone to tram tracking but VT-VZ's do seem to handle 19's quite well. You may need a camber kit when you lower the car. Some do, some don't.
Reaper
Mate from memory a good quality camber kit is only like $250 from a suspension wholesaler.
I used to have 20" wheels, with SL's and no camber kit. I found that it did camber a little bit but it wasnt an issue. Oh that was on a VT.
Best way is to fit the wheels and then you can see for yourself what the camber is like
The camber kit will depend on what series your car is... Have a look at this thread, I'd suggest getting off this bloke ay... KYB / Kings Commodore Lowering Packages!
Sorry just saw that you have a series II so yea just the two point camber kit for you like said previously! That's $90 from the above link, pretty cheap in my opinion ay...
your 19inch wheels wont affect your camber only the ride height will affect it.
He'll need a 4 point. do the job properly the first time
My VT2 chewed my tyre's at FE2 so I installed a 4 ponit nolathane kit it was pretty cheap too (cant remember tho) But you will need to buy to kits' one for each side.
My car had 19's, SSL in it and 4 point kit and the camber was spot on![]()
Would 19's and sl have a different effect with camber on a ute compared to a sedan
ive got 20" sygs, im getting slight rub on the rears, what would be a decent camber kit to put in for a slight adjustment?
if you have a look at your wheels you'll see you have a bit of negative camber Michael. It'll be nearly the same as mine coz I have a 4 point camber kit on my 20's with SSL. Don't be too afraid of it. You always want some negative camber coz it helps with handling. Obviously too much is bad for tyre wear
Well...one thing I've learned over the years with my car...when you want something done, prepare for the worst haha. I told you, I took my car in to get lowered...that's all...I walked out with the car lowered, guards rolled, every single bush in my car replaced (but they hadn't been done in 12 years), and 2 camber kits, one for the negative camber and one for the toe lol. Don't worry...you won't have the same issues. Your car is newer and has been looked after.
hey shut up you! lol the car is 100% now. i got the car for half of what it was worth. the amount it took to repair it brought me up to what it was actually worth...so i'm happy lol. plus my car has done a lot more kms than yours lol
lol...
If its a VXII you will have significantly reduced camber problems, mines on 20s and SSL's and i have minimal camber.

Well decided to have a look at my car, and its car sales ad, the car was listed as a series 2, but it was never badged as one. So i checked the indicator arm, and from what i understand the VX II have cylindrical ones and VX I's have buldged ones, i discovered that mine are buldged so it looks like ive got a series 1, I am now quite pissed off and if i hadn't had the car for over a year i would be calling the previous owner and having a serious word with him! so it looks like im going to need a 4 point camber kit F**k!! Not happy Jan!
Like I said, expect the worst LOL
