Does anyone know the rating of the stock speakers in VT series 2 Commodore Executive?

if your talking about the Fronts replace them with Splits, if your talking Rear in the Doors, just Disconected them and Fit some 6X9's on the rear Parcel shelf, all you need to do is cut the wholes out of the rear parcel shelf and fit the Calais Grills from Holden ( $39.00 each ) and knock out the spot welded panels , the stock speakers are REALLY SHIT paper cone items and they are in a shit spot anyway.

Splits are split or component speakers. A 6" in the front door and a tweeter mounted under or on top of the dash plus usually a crossover hidden away somewhere.

You can get the grills from Autobarn for $45 a pair.

All depends on what your aim is. Do you just want to replace speakers or are you aiming for a new head unit, sub, amp, etc?

I have just replaced the head unit with a Pioneer and put 6x9s in the shelf. Still have the original fronts. Sounds awesomely better with heaps of bass, but the fronts are clearly not up to the rest of the system so will soon replace them, probably some Jaycar splits for $150.

The Eurovox Speakers sound fine in mine!

And with a lot of feedback from industry guys they think the same. The doors are great places for them actually the parcel shelf are one of the worst places as they are so close to the glass. with the speakers at Ear level yet not facing you. you lose alot.

Better to keep the door/tweeter setup (Upgrade the 6" by all means) and add an amp/sub if you want a better sound.

VT Acclaims up came witht the tweeters in but it isn't a true crossover just a simple split off the main speaker wires.

    Anyways, just an alternative opinion.

    Thanks guys.

I have a Sony deck & CD changer going in tomorrow, might buy x4 Sony 180w 6" speakers. The price is right.

    Cheers.
