$700 for a manual transmission kit, cheap or not?

hi i went to the local wrecker today and i seen a VS ute with some panel damage but has been statuary write off
it has 150000 kms and its a manual
The wrecker quote me 700 for the whole convert kit from a auto to manual
I got a VP commodore will it fit or not?
and how much would i looking for the labour?
My car is in very good condition
will it be better to sell it and buy a manual commodore
or convert the one i have got?

you have to make sure it is a series 1 vs as the changed to the getrag box after that. if it is a t5 box should be all good. Just make sure that you get the box loom as well. there is a thread telling you how to do the conversion here just search for it. and if you dont want it let my know where it is

And all depends on the quality of the gearbox. A new kit + conversion i was looking at for my old vr was like 3 grand. So yeah good price if its in good nick. My mate just recently bought a VN manual for 800 bucks only thing wrong with it was baldy tyres. Just got to know where to look
