Mate if they have already changed the fuel sender unit in the tank and nothing has changed... I'd say it's the guage in the dash, but I'm no mechanic.

the car has a 6 year warrenty or the sender unit? if u got fitted a faulty sender unit most mechs would fix it 4 nothing or mayb just charge u 4 labour at a discounted rate. If u do think it could b ur needles mechinism cheapest way 2 test that is 2 put in a 2nd hand cluster from a VX similar 2 urs so u dont set off any faults. but im leaning 2wards ur sender unit still. mayb they didnt even change it lol?

where r u gettin it done? local mech or holden?

Do you have a mate with a VX you could swap the fuel gauges inside the clusters with for a day just to test?

being a VX u'll need a soldering iron 2 swap the mechs, they rnt plug and play like the VT clusters. so mayb swap clusters if they r similar cars so u dont set off any faults. or buy 1 cheap from a wrecker then sell it off after 2 get ur monsy back.

can u explain again ur problem of wat the needle is doing exactly and ur DTE readin is doing at the same time? ive read it again and from wat i can understand ur needle is just taking its time 2 go from half way 2 full with a full tank?

Anybody know much about swapping the actual 'Fuel Pump' over? If you can just swap the pump itself or if you do need to replace with an entire fuel pump unit?

So basically the problem is my km's to empty go up and down not like small ups and downs like it will be low then it will spike up and just hold it for a long car drive with changing and the needle just follows the same as the km's to empty when you drive it goes up then when you park the car and leave it for a hour or two it read very different, when i taken it today again... to get it checked all they said was that its delayed since its a common problem with the car... but anyway taking it back tomorrow morning again to take one of the mechanics for a drive to show them that it wont move at all like my car has been reading quater a tank all night all day since i gotten it back and i have driven easy 30 to 40 kms easy
