    Default oil light when brakeing

ohk so i have a vt had it for a year now always owns holdens and im builting a ecotec vk wagon so know a bit bout them but in my vt when i brake hardish the oil light comes on for a few secs just seems weird, as yes the oil would move to the front on the sump but im pretty sure thats where the pick up is? i do service her every 10k, it is due for another got oil and filtter in the shed but havent done it yet as mayb i should do a engine flush frist or may the oil pump is fill of shit or is starting to die (or i need to pack out the spring to pump up the presser). car has round 320ks on the clock.yes it is full of oil i check weekly pretty sure the oil in here atm is 15-40w which is what iv always put in all my commys

Unplug the brake light switch and test, other then that unless you have oil pressure issues or feel like pulling the dash and checking the wiring hasnt rubbed i dont know what else it could be.

I highly doubt your sump is full of sh*t, the oil is designed to hold sh*t (hence why it turns black) so it gets removed from the system when you change your oil. Put a gauge on it to test oil pressure, but braking shouldnt be enough to uncover the pickup, go drive on a step incline either way and see if the light flickers. Its one of those problems thats a bit weird. What oil are you using, brand wise?

my vt s pack was doing this too... apparently the oil sensor is at the rear of the sump? so braking would make it come on for a sec. like NVMYVT i put a slightly more dense oil in it, and made sure i didnt skimp on the oil levels... and it hasnt popped up since (about 5 months ago)

    give that a shot? cheers
