Hi guys,
I know it sounds weird but I have a very low k's VS S1 ecotec engine (83,759kms) and I wanted to know if I can swap out my VT S1 engine (done 105,743kms). If so I’m going to install new goodies to the engine and then install it.
Please let me Know if it’s possible, this VT engine has some small problems that I don’t like and I want it out!
regards Scroopy

Legally you cant install an older engine.
this is true...but should be possible...it's basically the same engine isn't it?
VT V6 fitted with DMS gold 40mm coilovers, Whiteline adjustable swaybars & strut brace, 330mm AP racing brakes, Rebuilt 3.45:1 LSD and a Powerdyne supercharger
Check it out: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...-v6-racer.html
this same thing has been asked so many times b4 and same answer everytime == yes it is possible but it's Illegal to put and older motor from an older car in to a newer car
Compressor is ####ed, strange knocking noise. My VS engine is mint I have it out of the old car and I wanted to know if it’s possible so I can give it to my mechanic to install cam, rods, rockers then he can install it into the VT.
The older engine into newer car gets trotted out but is it true? I'd be asking the QLD rego. authority. Common sense would suggest that a VS motor fitted with all the VT accessories (EGR, PCM) should be OK wrt emissions, regardless of being older or not.
If i was you i would be replacing it with a v8 of either the 5ltr or 5.7ltr nature.
Both engines are extremely low km's.. not worth the time, effort and risk of it being an older engine with the law/pits.
