    Default CAI or exhust?

hey guys, looks at getting either a CAI or cat back. What would be the pros and cons of each and what sort of power gains would i see with a stock vt v6?

Yeh you won't net huge gains with either but you will feel like you're going faster with the cat back.
Save a little more money and get both done at the same time

I had the exhaust done. it would be more efficient on fuel if i didn't like the sound above 3000 rpm lol.

+1 for exhaust... if your creative you can make you own CAI for less than $50 with PVC piping
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

i got my cat-back done before i got my CAI.

it sounded great n hada nice tone to it without the CAI. but WITH the CAI as well as the catback, it sounds alot nicer. 2.5k revs+ the growler CAI makes a GROLWING noise that ties right in with the exhausts roar... its win win.

that being said. the exhaust didnt make a difference to acceleration or throttle response or anything.
but the CAI did increase my throttle response a touch AND still gives a nice noise with heavy acceleration.

Yeah as said wont get much gains with either. If you got to choose between them go the exhaust first.

I went for my CAI first, really no difference from the stock filter.

Neither will get you any gains that you will notice.

Overall the exhaust is the better choice because at least you will know its there and will add something to your car whereas the CAI you never see, never hear and will never feel.
