The leather steering wheel on my SS Crewman was faded and looked like s##t. I went to a shoe repairers and bought a bottle of stuff called 'Colonil'. After a few coats, the wheel came up like new. 'Colonil' is about $11 a bottle and is a good cheap alternative to a new wheel.
Haha, colonil is good stuff, this was a little trick we used to use in the Navy to keep our boots polished to a mirror, meant we didn't have to spit polish them every day. I'd recommend it.
What about for a wheel like mine where the leather has a little tear in it and whenever I turn the wheel I more likely than not rub against it and have little tiny bits peel off each time. Come to think of it, I don't think it's even leather. VX Calais came with full leather wheel, yeah? This shit feels like pleather.![]()
