ok i got a vtII wagon not long ago n now when im on the high way my eng temp will stay at the low low end or even at the bottom it will not rise untill i get off the highway or till i stop my car, is this a gud thing to have in ur car or not is there a problem?
stay off the highway and you wont have a problem...
(you have a problem)
wat can i do to fix it? n i need to dirve to m from wollo a fair bit
Totally depends on what the problem is.
Cant tell from your post.
Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open, but most engines eventually warm up even with it stuck, if you stop and wait for the temp to rise then start driving again will it stay in the normal range or drop back down again?
if i want to try figer out what could be the problem where can i start looking? thermostat? radtaor?
i havnt try that but i will cus im goin down to wollo on the 25th i will tell u how it goes
from my memory i believe it will stay but im not 100% sure
oh one more thing n it might be stilly to ask y its bad for the engine cus i rally want to keep this car for a long time as this is my 1st car
stuck open thermostat. replace it and flush the coolant while you're at it. mine was doing this exact thing when I first got it.
nathans VY Calais - 'Calais 2.0' | VT Equipe | VS Calais **SOLD!**
kool sound like a easy fix then i need a flush too so yeah sound like a gud timing but i will need to do it after april tho u think its ok to hang in there for a lil longer?
Bad for engine as until the engine is at normal operating temp engine wear and tear is at its greatest.
ouch then i gues i need to womr her up 1st then ><
Dont worry too much, its not as if the engine is tearing itself apart.
wouldnt do much other then use more fuel and run with less performance![]()
kool it warm up n in okish traffic it hang around 79-85 n in bad traffic it hang around 80-107 so far
whats the best running temp on my VTII V6??
Sounds like it may have no thermostat at all.
thx guys i will replace the thermostat asap by any chance there is a how to for this?
nvm i will have a look 1st
Its kind of NO thermostat at all, if you are sure nobody played with last repair then you have problem with it need to change, Most of them stuck closed not open, If so then the thermostat ran normally in summer , but in winter is so bad since it would wasting more gas with engine effected either
or the plastic seal around outside is perished a little bit, same prob with mine running cold. if your car hasnt had a flush for a while be ready for other parts in your cooling system to leak as flushing will remove small bits of build up that will dislodge and then the water pump, radiator will start to leak! completely your choice though, you may not have any problems at all.
mahaha it turn out the last owner didnt put a thermostat in it so now we know why lol=D all fix n flush the system thanks to all of you =D n who did the how to on it as well =D
